This seminar is designed for all professionals engaged or interested in medical translation, including both providers and recipients of translation services. It offers an in-depth overview of the translation process, equipping attendees with insights into the complexities of medical translation. Participants will explore topics such as the pre-translation stage, the specific needs of the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, and workflow management.

The seminar is structured in two parts:

The first half features expert-led presentations addressing critical aspects such as the profile and skills needed to become a successful medical translator, the various pathways into the profession, and strategies to overcome common challenges. Attendees will also gain insights into the key workflows essential for effective medical translation, including managing multilingual content and addressing the technical complexities unique to the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. Additionally, the seminar will cover the documentation requirements and inner workings of translation divisions within pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, along with strategies to address issues related to quality, project timelines, and regulatory compliance. There will be Q&A segments, fostering an interactive exchange of ideas and experiences.

In the second half, participants will be able to choose from a series of focused breakout sessions. These are designed to explore the expectations, needs, and challenges faced by stakeholders in the medical translation process, best practices for creating translation-ready materials, the role of technology in medical translation, strategies for culturally sensitive translation, and the variety of translation services available. 

By the end of the seminar, participants will possess advanced insights to significantly enhance their ability to navigate the complex landscape of medical translation and foster more effective communication within the global healthcare environment.
