Heather Mason
Heather worked in both clinical operations and medical affairs departments for eight years before turning to medical writing in 2010. She has been a freelance writer since 2018, working in a wide range of therapeutic areas for pharma, biotech, not-for-profit, and patient organisations. Her specialist area of interest is rare diseases, and she writes predominantly in medical communications, ranging from conference coverage and manuscripts to patient-focused materials and whole project management. Since working on rare diseases and having a son with a disability, she has a passion for patient advocacy, understanding first-hand how non-inclusivity can adversely affect the day-to-day lives of people.
